Classic Biker Chic

TGIF and Happy Halloween! Today's outfit is about one word "classic"; classic, timeless pieces that never go out of style. Case in point--the classic leather jacket, the black and white chucks and grey pashmina scarf. These pieces will work no matter what the current trend and always seem to work pull a look together. Not that my current look is anything to write home about! Ha! Today was all about comfort but when I saw my reflection walking down the street, I thought how timeless these pieces were and how funny it was that I had paired them all together today.

Thats today's lesson: classic, timeless pieces. LOL

* jeans - Macys
* grey shirt - Old Navy
* black sneakers - Chucks
* leather jacket - Victoria Secret
* grey pashmina - Paris street market

Thursday

I've been up since VERY early this morning (well, early for me that is). I had a doctor's appointment before work, so I've been up and at 'em trying to feel good and push through the cold morning.

Here I am once again trying to "push" the denim in on a Thursday.

* jeans - People's Liberation
* purply/fuschia tank - Old Navy
* black trapeze jacket - Old Navy
* black pointy stiletto booties - Colin Stuart
* sneakers - Nike
* pink peacoat - Victoria Secret

Black and White

I'm sure everyone has a "safe" outfit. You know, the one that is a go-to when you just don't know what to wear. This one is mine. It's not only safe, but it's black and white and seriously when can you go wrong with black and white. I take that back, you can totally look like a waiter if its not done correctly. Anyways, the side parted bun, the black framed glasses, the entire outfit is safe. With less and less light out when I wake up in the morning, getting dressed is not as fun as it is in the summer months thats for sure.

* black pants - Express
* white sillver pin striped button up - Macys
* 3/4 sleeve black cardigan - Macys
* black round toe pumps - Guess
* sneakers - Puma
* black wool bomber jacket - Victoria Secret

I wish all of my shoes were as comfortable as these. They are Guess and were a little pricey, but what you pay for in a price tag is given back in comfort. Who knew 4 inches could be so comfy.

Beautiful Fall Day

It is a gorgeous fall day here. The foilage is beautiful and its this time of the year that makes me feel grateful for growing up and living in the Northeast. The changing colors would defintely be something I'd miss.
Today's outfit is:

* olive green jersey wrap dress - Spiegel
* black tall stretch boots - Steve Madden
* leather biker jacket - Victoria Secret

Pretty laid-back weekend. Saturday, I did a lot of nothing. Had a play date for my dog and lounged around the house in my pj's for most the day (love those!). Sunday I managed to get out and hit the gym and I actually put some jeans and tshirt on.

Here's my cool Sunday tee. Remeber to get out and Vote! The big day is just one week away.

Not so much....

It's another start to another workweek. One of the things you will notice is that I start the week off more casually then I finish it. It must be something about dragging myself out of bed on a Monday morning that doesn't really get my "fashionista" juices flowing. They get better as the week goes along and I'm sure you will see exactly what I'm talking about in week's to come.

Today's outfit is not exactly what I had envisioned in my mind. I had it all looking a certain way in my head and when I got dress...well, it all didn't fall exactly how I had "seen" it. However, I was up late again watching the Red Sox in the ALDS (they lost, I am heart broken and the wounds are still too fresh to discuss it in more detail...lol). My alarm never went off because I apparently had set it to p.m. rather than a.m. For some odd reason, my internal clock decided to wake me up a full 45 minutes after I should've risen. Now, I was running super-late to work and the outfit I had planned in my mind had to stay regardless of what the final outcome was because I honestly had no time to change.

There is a face-less pic today because this weekend was horrible to me. I woke up Saturday morning with pink eye. Eww. Gross. All of the above. I had no choice but to hibernate all weekend and shield my horrid eyes and apply ointment on a regular basis in hopes it would all clear by Monday. For the most part it is gone, but I still look like I had a rough weekend.

The whole reason for this outfit were these shoes. I thought they were super cute and in a fun color. They are wedges and I love wedges. You walk around for days in a wedge and never feel a thing. I will need to stock up on the navy items just so I can wear these more often.
* yellow puff sleeve button-up - Express
* grey chinos - Victoria's Secret
* navy blue patent leather peep toe wedge - Payless

Chicago

This jacket and these jeans were purchased in Chicago this summer. They were both pieces that I walked in the store and saw, loved, then looked at the price-tag and had second thoughts. I walked in and out and finally back in because I couldn't leave without having them. That's my one rule of thumb, regardless of the price-tag, if you can't see yourself living without the piece or beating yourself up because you should've purchased it--then BUY IT!

The jacket I bought at a store called Akira. I'm not from Chicago so I don't know much about the quality of the store, but I know I saw this jacket and fell in love. I love military style dressing done a feminine way.

The jeans I bought at the Nordstorm Rack. Why, oh why, does Boston NOT have a Nordstrom Rack. It's like Filene's Basement on steroids. In other words, amazing. I could not dare leave the store without these jeans.

About the jeans, every once and a while I try to sneak a pair of denim in during the week(we have casual Friday, but I'll sneak in a pair on a Thursday). I try to make sure they look more like a trouser than a pair of jeans, so today was one of those days.

Here's a close-up of my shoes, since my jeans are so long you can barely see them.

* grey 3/4 sleeve wool jacket - Akira
* white ruffle short sleeve blouse - Rampage (Macy's)
* jeans - People's Liberation (Nordstrom Rack)
* grey croco pump - Jessica Simpson

Express Again

Another Express outfit and it was totally by accident. It is perfect fall weather here in Boston. Leaves changing colors, nice crisp air but Im not freezing my cojones off yet. Love that!

Got my flu shot at work today. Other than that, nothing major going on at all.

Floating Holiday

Columbs Day is a floating holiday in my office and boy do I wish I hadn't used up all my floaters already. Work is the last place I wish I were. The streets were desolate this morning as it seems they all have today off.

Sox play at 4:30pm today so at least I have something to look forward considering how horrible my Pats were last night. Oiy.

Since it is a floating holiday, the dress code is a little more lax here meaning we can wear denim trousers. Thus, today's outfit.

* black 3/4 sleeve trench - Loehman's (Chicago)
* black D&G bag (mom's)
* denim trouser - Express
* black tank - Express
* plum v-neck t - Express
* cheetah print open toe flat - ebay

(I just realized Im wearing all Express clothing. That hardly never happens)

Semi-Cas

It's a semi-casual wardrobe for me today. I was up late watching the Red Sox beat the Angels to advance to their 4th ALCS in 6 years and well, needless to say, I was exhausted when the alarm went off this morning. I guarantee many more late nights to come as my Sox are in the hunt for a back to back championship. Go Sox!

brown cord blazer - Walmart in Florida
white 3/4 sleeve v neck tee - Old Navy
heather beige slacks - Express
patchwork flats - Coach
patterned scarf - Aldo Accessories
Patricia Field "Andy" bag - Ebay

Blah Monday

Until I find a better solution to taking the daily pic, I apologize that you must see this bad quality image. Once I do find a better solution, it will include a head shot. Cropped faces always freak me out a bit.

Mondays are tough! I hate them, but I'm sure I'm with most of country in saying that I really do have to drag myself out of bed.

The first pic is my "commuter" outfit. I mentioned that I'm from a large metro-city (i.e. Boston) and I commute everywhere via the MBTA. I have had so many heels chewed up by the cobblestones and sidewalks that most often than not, I wear flats to commute to work in.

This morning's outfit is:

tan trench - via Ebay
pink/purple striped scarf- street vendor in Paris
black/grey flats - Old Navy
black pencil skirt - Moda International
pink striped button-up - Thomas Pink
pink fake croco pumps - Anne Michelle
black patent trim "bowler" bag - Details

These pink pumps were so cheap (like $15 cheap) and are so comfy and I really do get a lot of use of them. I love surprising purchases like those.

Hello Internet!

After religiously following other fashion/style blogs, I decided to take a gander on starting on myself. I only hope to be as cool as some of my favorite blogs (which are listed on the right hand side). This shouldn't come as too much of a stretch for me as back in my high school days I was just as obsessively organized as I am today and used to actually make journal enteries of my daily outfits so as not to commit the ultimate fashion faux-paus and wear the same thing within a 3 week time span. Weird, I know, but totally describes me. In the next week or so (hopefully by this weekend), I hope to get this blog up and running and "ready to wear".
