S.O.S.O.S.

I have no pic to post for Thursday because half of us at the office were hungover from Wednesday night's outing and myself included, the best of wardrobe choices were not made. Of course I was exhausted and guess what, it was cold and dreary in the morning so not a good wardorbe post for sure.

The horrible summer weather thus far had me wearing knits as of July 9th!! So wrong! I want to wear bright, fun colors, in flowing fabrics bt waking up to grey skies and impending thunderstorms just kills any fashion inspiration I may have had. I feel myself stuck style wise. in my head, I envsion fabu outfits, however whether due to time contraints or weather my execution is off and I don't like it. It has averaged 60 degrees nearly everyday and I am not kidding, when I say that it has rained everyday.

I struggle everyday with finding my fashion-self. I love classic, timeless pieces (pencil skirts, dresses, peep toes, crisp white blouses), but sometimes feel they are too conservative mature for my age so I try to incorporate select trendy pieces via funky shoes or handbags) into my wardrobe which is constant struggle. My hair is super curly AND frizz prone hair, so this 40 days and 40 nights of rain has wreaked havoc on my hair. Its like I have put it more product to fight of frizz, slick it back because its going to rain all day and I'm being left with little else to do. Sigh.
About 6 months ago I was in a rut and all I wanted was to land a job and lose 8 lbs. Now with those two goals checked off, I long for some sunny skies and warmer days to get me out of this style rut I'm in. S.O.S.O.S. (Save Our Summer Of Style)

So because I have no pic to post for Thursday, I leave you instead with this picture of So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley. She is hit or miss for me. Some nights she wears things that I just shake my head and wonder, what compelled her to do it, and other night's she is spot on. Either way, I must commed her for taking risks and I just read in an article that she is her own stylist for the show and picks her own outfits herself. Not bad Cat!

This dress is John Galliano for Dior. She accessorized her look with diamond-like bracelets and a vintage broach in her hair. I absolutely ADORE this look. This is the perfect balance of classic and sexy that I long to achieve.

I feel the same way about Cat. I really loved the white pants suit that she wore earlier this season, but sometimes I wonder out loud...WTH!!!
