A "frilly, girly" Cat Deeley

This is the dress that I mention in my last Cat Deely post . Cat said she wanted to give the illusion of sweet and innocent with this vintage dress she paired with Christian Loboutin heels. I thought it was a bit too on the little girl side than sweet and innocent.

T-G-I-W

Yay to short work weeks and woo-hoo to 1/2 days. The boss is letting us out at 1p today so we can get a head start on the holiday festivities, so today is techically my Friday. With almost everyone out of the office traveling before the Thanksgiving holiday our work-day attire is very casual for today.

Monday

Back to work after a great weekend. Luckily, this week is a short one due to the Thanksgiving holiday. The look on my face begs to differ. I caught a bus back to Boston late last night and I'm still feeling the effects of a long weekend this morning. Hey, at least my eyes are open!

Weekend

I spent a fab weekend in NYC with two of my fave GF's. I had to pack lightly as I hate lugging around stuff through the city. I made to sure to pack clothes that I could wear theblack suede flat boots I wore Friday, which basically consisted of leggings and tops and what I JUST noticed was apparently a striped theme. The weather was gorgeous, in the mid 50's all weekend which was perfect for lots of post-eating walking around. I love living on the East Coast and being able to hop on a bus and a few hours later I'm in NY.

Saturday

Sunday

SIDENOTE - Yes, I know horizontal stripes are always on the fashion "don't" list but I couldn't resist the pattern and I'm a sucker for black and grey colors. The rule is that horizontal stripes make you look wider. I don't think they look that bad, but I could be a little biased about myself ;)

Saturday -
* black cotton leggings
* black tank with striped sweater - (label ripped off)
* black suede flat boots - Bamboo

Sunday -
* black leggings
* grey striped sweater dress - Derek Heart

Art Meets Fashion

The Peabody Essex Museum (PEM) is celebrating New York fashion icon Iris Apfel with a weekend of hand-on fashion fun. The celebration begins on Friday night, December 4, with a fashion session featuring Iris Apfel and Michael Vollbracht, followed by a live runway show. The fun continues on Saturday, December 5, with a full day of activities including fashion sketching, styling demonstrations, film, fashion slideshows and a live DJ. The festivities will be concluded with a World of Fashion panel discussion featuring Pulitzer Prize-winning fashion journalist Robin Givhan, designer Michael Vollbracht, and of course the legendary Iris Apfel. The weekend should be a lot of fun and hope that you. Click here for more information about Friday night’s fashion session or click here for for more information about Saturday’s events visit

All tale of two Olivias....

Recently, I've found myself obsessing over the wardrobes of tv's Olivia Palermo (MTV's The City - which I do NOT watch but somehow Olivia Palermo landed on my radar due to the gossip mags) and Olivia Wilde ( Fox's House). Whether its their red carpet style or simple day-time looks, I covet their closets.

Cat Deeley - Top 14

Metallics were in full effect Tuesday night when the Top 14 performed. I can't find a picture of last night's results show just yet, but rest assured that as soon as I do I am posting because she looked like a little school girl.

This dress is vintage and the shoes are Manolo Blahniks. According to InStyle, Cat put on a pair of black pumps and headed to Mann's Village Theatre to join boyfriend, Twiglight star, Jack Houston for the premiere of New Moon. What are your thoughts on this dress? Cat can do no wrong as far as her shoes are concerned, but I am noticing that she tends to lean towards sparkly/metallic dresses. See here and here and here AND here.

Belated SYTCD Review

I forgot to post about Cat Deeley's outfit on the results show last week (11/11/09). I'm a sucker for red lips, red shoes and of course, a fierce red dress. The shoes were fab (Cole Haan) and the make up and hair suited the dress. The dress was Top Shop and I think its cute, and looked even more adorable on her.

A Reptile-like SYTCD

Cat, Cat, Cat, my darling Cat, whatever are you wearing?! I guess from far away it doesn't look so bad, but when the camera zoomed in, it looked like she had stepped out of an alien movie. I just recently saw District 9 and I kept thinking that she was part of District 9. A little too much animal product for my personal liking. The shoes are fierce though! The dress is Roland Mouret and the heels are Givenchy.

Bumble Bee

I took Monday off to spend some time with my BF while he's home on vacation. All work weeks should start on Tuesdays!

I feel a bit like a bumble bee, but trust that I did my fair shair google image searches to see if anyone has pulled off black and yellow successfully. Fashion entails research at times, right? I figured Iwould give it a shot.

SYTYCD Recap

Since I haven't been able to post this week since I've been battling kidney stones (you know, some women say kidney stones are worse than child-birth!), I'm going back to my SYTYCD Cat Deeley posts. She's baaaaack!!

Season 6 has a slightly different format than past season, the biggest of which is that, so far, there is no results show. Immediately following the night's performances, the judges decide which dancers are in the bottom and then eliminate two dancers. This means less wardrobe changes for our dear Cat.

Last week she wore this gorgeous red dress from Shanghai Tang. The color was to die for and she complimented the dress perfectly with her 1940's waves and delicious heels.

This week, Cat delivered once again. She wore a nude colored mini-dress from designer Jasmine di Milo. According to Cat, this was her homage to Carrie's S&TC dress from her first date with Big. She completed the look with Alexander McQueen rose-embellished heels. The heels added a touch of fun to the dress. Overall, I though she looked, in the words of Christian Siriano, "ferosh".

Halloween

I was out of work sick today (kidney stones -- ugh!) but decided to post a pic of my Halloween costume instead.

I went the easy route and created my own costume. It actually happened by accident as I was searching online for a cool costume and came across a picture of Beyonce in the "Single Ladies" video. I thought, well that is easy to replicate and cheap too, Im there!
