Today was totally one of those "drag your @ss out of bed" days. The extra day off last week certainly made getting up this morning quite a project. Usually, I tend to wore more casual, easy, go-to outfits for Mondays, mostly because I'm too lazy to put together anything more fab, but as the week progresses so do my outfits (usually). Today was one of those easy, go-to outfit; anything that doesn't need to ironed so it can buy me 10 more minutes of sleep.

I'm posting two pics today, because the pic on the left has me still wearing my hair elastic on my wrist. I hate when I do that. My second picture is sans hair elastic.

I got this dress at Target and I love it. A modern twist on a classic houndstooth dress. The back of the dress is very cool, with a deep v and a bow that cinches everything all together. I tossed on the blazer to make the dress office appropriate as we are holding depositions today.

Pajamas at Work

I totally feel like I'm in my flannel pj's with this shirt dress. I wore it on Thanksgiving sans the navy blue leggins because the Fall temps were just beautiful on Thanksgiving; a week before Christmas - not so much! Leggings it is. To say that I feel cozy, comfy and warm would be an understatement.

Holiday Party

Saturday night my firm had its Holiday Party. We all had a very lovely dinner followed which was bookended by tons of drinking. My firm definitely believes in holiday cheer. We got to stay at this fabulous hotel, The Liberty Hotel, which I have been dying to stay in since it was opened. All in all it was great evening and a personal success for me as it was the first firm event I organized since I started working here this summer.

Friday

I basically swamped Thursday for Friday and vice-versa this week. I wore my casual outfit yesterday and on my typically casual Friday, I'm wearing a sweater dress. Another after work event, this time a friend's birthday party and, again, I didn't want to have to go home to change into another outfit. I wore this dress a few weekends ago when I was in NYC, but I wore it causally with leggings and flat suede boots. I thought I would jazz it up a little by pairing it with my grey ankle booties.

Today I'm a lot more casual than more usual work week self, but I have after work plans to go bowling with the girls to celebrate my Comadre's birthday. I didn't want to have to rush home after work just to change into something more bowling-approrpriate. Seeing as the boss is away 4 out of 5 days this week and thus the office attire has been more lax, I thought I could get away with it. Fingers crossed.

Tickled Pink

No, not really tickled pink. Wish the weather felt more like my pink-filled attire. Crappy weather here in Boston as the sleet/rain/snow began for the season during the morning commute. I never know whats worse; snow during the morning commute or during the evening commute. Hmmmm. My hair was the biggest casualty of the weather (helloooo frizz!). Luckily, I wore jeans on my way into work so as not to ruin my nice dress slacks. Gotta think ahead.

The Uninspired Week Ahead

Beware readers, there is absolutely nothing fashion inspiring about my outfit picks this week. I should have forwarned everyone yesterday, as I started the work week. When I picked yesterday's outfit out of my closet, I already knew that it would be plain, old, boring basics all week. Maybe, I'm just in a bit of wardrobe slump yesterday and today. Winter temps have officially hit Boston and commuting is no fun when you're freezing your @ss off! So, when I wake up and look to my closet for inspiration, I see long sleeves, cords, turtlenecks and they all say "wear me! wear me instead of the cute blouse and pencil skirt". I must put an end to this immediately.

SYTYCD -- Tues/Wed Review

I don't know about this black dress. This certainly does fall into the LBD category and feels a little matronly for my own personal liking. Dress is Thomas Wilde, shoes are Givenchy.

I was a little confused by this entire ensemble. While a part of me loves the Alexander Wang dress, I don't like the shoe she picked (pumps look a little boring for this dress) and I don't like the bed-head AND red-lips. I would have chosen one or the other, not both. Seems like a little much, but again, who am to judge designer fashions, I'm just a regular old gal.
