Today was the coldest morning this entire winter! Brrrrrr. My Facebook status today said "I would like to thank the inventors of the North Face, Uggs and long-johns. Only my nose, cheeks and lips feel like they are falling off. Thanks!" Yup! Its that cold!

Sidenote - I don't usually wear my North Face coat to work because its bulky (really more of ski-jacket) and does not go with my work clothes (plus, who doesn't love a nice peacoat) but today, it was so brutally cold that there was no way the peacoat would suffice. I wear my Uggs to commute to work in and yes, I wear long-johns. Im not freezing my @ss because Im embrassed about whats underneath these clothes.

In the Heights

My BF, BFF and her fiance all went to see the last performance of the Boston run of the Tony award winning musical "In the Heights". I have been dying to see the musical for quite some time now and every single time I go to NYC, I keep telling myself "I need to check it out", but with Broadway ticket prices sky-high and this being some tough times economically, I just never made it. Luckily, the production came to Boston it it just so happened to be in town during the week of my BFF's bday. To the theater we went! It was wonderful, amazing and everything I had anticipated it would be.

I swore I'd never wear this blouse again, but I love this jacket so much that it just spices up even my blandest of tops. I already have another outfit in my head based on the top and jacket, just switching up the shoes and pants for leggings and boots. Maybe, I will wear that version for my Dress Down Friday.

Amsterdam Adventure

I went on a mini-vacation (or holiday as the Europeans call it) this past week to Amsterdam. When I was in college I spent a semester abroad in the Netherlands. I lived in a 12th century castle, complete with its own moat and draw bridge, in a small town close to the German border. We had classes 4 days a week and had weekends for travel. We traveled to so many amazing places in Europe, but we spent a lot of time in Amsterdam and it became almost like a second home for me. It was incredible experience that always stays close to my heart. Shortly, after I graduated, I went back to Amsterdam with my BF and former castle dorm mate, to show my BF around. It had been a couple years since we had last been back and we were really starting to miss it. I decided, hey why not? I can make a quick jaunt across the Atlantic. So, my castle roomie and I made another wonderful return to one of our favorite cities; just her and I and it was wonderful as always
