Day Into Night

I went to see John Mayer on Wednesday night so to segway my outfit from work day into night without having to rush home to change my outfit completely I was sure to wear something that I could just add jeans and sneakers to and be on my way out the door. He was amazing as always (it was my 3rd time seeing him) and did not disappoint.

There is no picture for Tuesday. I had a half day at work so I got to sneak in some casual clothes since I was only in for a couple of hours.

Back to Blogging

After taking a, what I like to call "woosa break", I'm back to my daily blogging. Life gets a little overwhelming or even underwhelming, so I think little hiatuses are ok. Sometimes we just need a breather. Here I am, Monday morning, and ready to make this a better week than last week. (And yes, I am making do, with whatever I find in my closet and NOT complaining about it! - Step 1)

Winter Blues

It's that time of year. Not quite Spring and still right in the middle of winter. I don't know if its the lack of serotonin boosting rays or cold-sluggish commutes home. Either way, I got the winter blues and I got 'em bad. No matter how much I hit the gym, I'm not seeing the results I desire. Can we say "frustrating"? My entire wardrobe appears "eh" to me. Nothing inspires. Part of my New Years Resolution this year was to spend less, save more and pay everything off, which all goes against a true fashionista's insticts. Sigh. So no shopping for some new digs until I I can afford, with money to spare.

This past weekend just added to my winter blues. I went to get a most-needed haircut/trim and when I stepped out it was horrible. One of those, you-go-home-and-cry haircuts. Yea that was me. And I was really disappointed because I've been going to the same stylist for like 3-4 years now. She was the type that I sat in her chair and didn't have to say a word, she knew what I wanted. When she would turn the chair around, there I was looking back at my fabulous self. Not this time! I'm totally hoping she was just having one of those and I will give her one more shot, but if not- its over! Man, oh, man. I know I'm not the only one with salon horror stories so I can't feel to be about myself. Until, until....I went to get a manicure and managed to smudge every nail before I even got back home. Aint that a bitch? My day was topped off by a trip to MAC. Makeup! You will make me feel better, I know you will. Well, I step inside a MAC in a Macys and I ask the salesperson to help me find the right blush. I have been wearing a bronzer that at first I liked, but as time has passed makes me look a lil orangey. I asked the MAC salesgirl for a pinky blush, that glow you get from being in the cold too long. She tries one on and it looks great. Ok, ok, I'll take it. Seconds pass and I realize, wait, this blush has some shimmer to it and shimmer was the problem with the my last brozer. I need to stay away from shimmer, I'm not 12 yrs old. I mean the color looks great, exactly what I wanted, except for that damn shimmer. So I return to the salesgirl and say, hey, do you think you can show me a shade of this blush that doesn't have shimmer. She replies that I look great, the blush is a good pick and the shimmer is very subtle. I was batting 3 for 3 that day huh? I went home tossed my horrid hair into a pony, wiped away all traces of shimmery blush and undid everything I just paid the manicurist to do.

Have a similar horror story? Please share your experience and make me feel better -- lol :)

Color Me "Yellow" with Envy

Lauren Conrad was seen wearing this delicious yellow coat on her way to a Good Morning America taping. I have been completely lusting over this coat since the moment I saw it. *Sigh*

Basic Thursday

Nothing fashion forward, trendy or exicting about my outfit posts this week, but this blog isn't about having the latest trends or designer duds. As I say in my "About Me" section, I am inspired by the designers but at the end of the day I'm just a regular gal living in a regular city. Some days, I don't feel fashion forward, but that doesn't mean that I won't post my "boring" or "basic attire" pics. I'm not trying to outdo anyone, just sharing a piece of me. Lately, the subject of fashiony blogs vs. regular-women blogs has come up. Most recently at My Wardrobe Today (which coincidentally was the very first wardrobe blog I came across and followed), Budget Chic and over at Cute on the Cheap . I have to say that I agree with my fellow bloggers. There are a bunch of real women out there that would like to see real women wearing real clothes. We all have our off days, days wear we are too lazy to iron that fab blouse or pencil skirt and we reach for the easiest piece. Or maybe the winter temps drop and who really can afford to be uber fashionable with 5 inches of snow on the ground. I get it. I understand it. And I live it. So yes, I aspire and wish to wear chic outfits, better accessories and move one step closer to my style-icon Olivia Palermo; and yes, some days I succeed, but most of the time I'm just a regular gal and I'm not afraid to share and post those "regular-gal" pics.

Woosah Wednesday

Ever have one of those mornings where everything just seems to be going wrong? Yea, that is me today. Gotta love Murphy's Law because if it can go wrong, it did go wrong. I keep telling myself "Woosah, Lini. Woosah".

While the cat's away....

...the mice will play. My boss is in London (jealous) for some depos this week and another attorney is at a conference in Hawaii (can we repeat jealous), so most of the office is in super casual-mode. I would not let the chance to wear denim mid-week pass me by!
