I love this dress and I love this jacket; pretty much I'm in love all over. The dress is one of those finds that you don't realize until later how much use you will get out of. I bought this dress after browsing through the Target website. I wanted a houndstooth print dress for awhile but never found one cute and modern enough. Then I came across this spin on the houndstooth print. The dress has a deep v-neck back and initially I thought I would wear during the Holidays (Christmas, New Years) but I wanted to incorporate into my work clothes - enter boyfriend blazer. A lil wardrobe addition, can give new life to an outfit that may have seemed one dimensional. So now I can wear this dress with my blazer to work or sans blazer and feel a lil sexy in the back.

I feel very much so like a lady and total grown woman in my pencil skirt and silk blouse. I don't really own silk blouses, but now I understand the gravitational pull to feeling so grown and lady-like.

I received this pic of Whitney Port from The City via my daily newsletter from Who What Wear Daily and I just can't stand how fug it is. This women has her own clothing line, works in the fashion industry and yet she stepped out in this. Even for Coachella I think its a lil old/farsty and not enough indie chic. The top looks saggy, the shorts verge on the mom-jeans side and to top it off, everything is high-end designer. Eeeek!
There is a new website that allows you to post your picture and get an honest opinion about whether your outfit is a thumbs up or thumbs down. A part of me thinks its pretty cool, the other part of me doesn't want to get blasted on that my outfit is horrendous. However, upon further review, the site reminds readers to keep the comments "help and not hurtful". I absolutely love the idea and love how far we have come from asking your mom or boyfriend "hey does this look good" to daily fashion blogs to now this -- GoTryItOn. The process is simple, sign-up, upload a picture, provide a little info like the occassion and why or why not you are iffy about the look and boom! there you go, advice from the online community. You can sign-up for Get an Opinion or to just Give an Opinion. Check it out today, sign-up and help your fellow fashionistas!!
This is not a personal fave, but hey those days happen. I didn't not want to post just because I was less than thrilled because I felt I wouldn't be fair to my fellow fashion bloggers. Its about the good and the bad. Boss is out of town on business, so sneaking in some denim mid week.

Today is the Boston Marathon and also Patriot's Day AND also the day the Red Sox have a mid-day game (hey, here in Red Sox Nation, Sox games are the equivalent of a holiday). Since its a state holiday, most people have the day off; I do not. If I could've came to work in my pj's I would've. There's just something about going to work knowing that the rest of the city is out and about enjoying the day's sporting events.

I came across this picture of Heidi Klum through one of my fave blogs FashionUnder100 and it reminded me of an outfit I had worn a couple months back. The top I wore has taken me awhile to love and I almost gave it away, but of course seeing Heidi in something similar, I feel compelled to jazz it up and wear it more often. Subsitute my dark blue skinnies for black leggings and grey booties for black strappy heels (which I just happen to already own and wore here and I think I'm pretty close to duplicating this look.
