If at first you don't succeed, try, try again

My normal picture taker was not in the office today so I tried, in vain, to take a pic myself. First I tried using the long mirror in the bathroom. Quality was horrible. Fail. So, on my lunch I went to the mall and decided to use a fitting room and take a pic. Fail. Finally, I gave in and asked another co-worker to take the pic. Sometimes, I get embarassed asking others to take my picture for my blog, but why should I?! I love blogging, and I love sharing my pictures because I love seeing yours. Here are my 3 attempts.

Catalog Wednesday

Ripped right out of a Victoria Secret catalog and I love it. Love the bright punch of color from the blouse and the jacket, so expect to see this jacket worn a lot more throughout the next few months. I also have been experimenting with a triple-barrell curling iron, thus the head shot to show you the waves in my hair. I used the curling iron yesterday and was surprised with the volume and waves I got from it. It was just a simple pony but I was so happy with the results. My hair is naturally curly so getting an in between wave has proved troublesome for me.

Tony Awards Fave

Out of all the dresses I saw come down the red-carpet for the Tony Awards on Sunday, Lea Michele's (in Zac Posen) was my standout. I don't know if it was the vibrant shade of yellow, or if it's because I just absolutely adore Lea Michele or maybe its because the red lips and yellow dress reminded of me of Reese Witherspoon at the 2008 Golden Globes (which I totally loved).

New Template & Monday

SYTCD -- New Season!

Its that time again, So You Think You Can Dance is back on tv and if you follow my blog you know how I love to post about Cat Deeley's outfits the following day. She is definitely a risk taker -- some days good, and others not so much -- but either way, she gives me plenty to talk about.

Last night she wore Topshop dress and Christian Louboutin shoes. I don't know how I feel about the rainbow colored flapper dress, but nevertheless let the fashion police season begin.

Mag Inspired Thursday

I don't usually plan my outfits in advance, I just go with whatever "feels" right when I open my closet. (In high school, I used to plan my outfits for the week - boy, do I wish I had the dedication I had then now). So this morning, I'm flipping through this month's latest issue of Glamour and as I normally do, I start in the back with the Dos and Don'ts section (its my favorite part!). This month was dedicated to Dos and Don'ts of stripes. I noticed an outfit and thought, I have that and that and BOOM -- outfit came to mind. Here is my interpertation of the same. Intead of the bold accessories that were suggested I went with a bold lip color. I always wear make-up but try to keep it light and natural. Lipstick always makes me feel like I'm trying too hard, but I'm trying to change my style ways to incorporate more change and be a little more daring.

SATC 2 - Girls Night

I haven't posted the past few days because I was out for an extended Memorial Day weekend, which just so happened to coincide with my birthday on the 31st. I was out since Thursday and just got back in the office today, although no pic for today as I had to leave early for a doctor's appointment. So no posts for those dates which included 2 Red Sox games and Bday BBQ, but I did go to see SATC2 with the girls and we decided to get a bit overly dressed up. Here was my look.
